My family and I have just returned from a fabulous vacation in Mexico! We stayed at the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa in Puerto Morelos (on the Caribbean coast, just south of Cancun). It’s the newest addition to the “All-in Luxury” Royalton chain, just having opened it’s doors in December 2014. They coin themselves as a “Modern All Inclusive” and they definitely are! (and I’ve traveled my fair share of higher-end Caribean resorts 😉 )
We were looking for an up-scale, clean, all-inclusive family resort and a travel agent suggested this resort to us, and I’m glad she did! The resort was spotless (you’ll see staff cleaning everywhere all the time), the staff was friendly, the entertainment was great and the food, oh the food was so so so good.
But speaking of style… I thought I’d share some pictures and video of our suite and the grounds. We definitely enjoyed their clean, crisp, modern and comfortable take of a luxury home away from home.
THE SUITE – JUNIOR OCEANVIEW
Loved the lighting in the room, especially in the light coffers in the ceiling, floor and behind the bed
Sofabed
Double sinks, soaker jacuzzi tub and a walk in shower with 2 rainforest shower-heads and a telephone shower head
Need a bit more privacy between the washing area and the rest of the suite? There’s a curtain that can be extended to cut the bedroom area off from the washroom area. And can I just say – LOVED the hairdryer! It wasn’t one of those small hotel ones you pull out of a wall, this was a full size salon quality hair dryer with TWO concentrator nozzles. My long thick hair was dried and straightened in no time with the heat that came out of that baby and the nozzles :)
The toilet in it’s own little room, with the 2-type flush system
The mini-fridge and coffee maker/accessories are hidden behind the cabinetry
The crib they gave us for the baby. Love that it rolled so easily, so we could easily move it when needed. It was clean and sturdy, and we really appreciated that they put the new clean sheet on the crib mattress right in front of us (so we knew that it was fresh…. not something left over from the last baby!)

THE GROUNDS
     Â
   Â
The beach was beautiful and huge. Long stretch of white powdery sand. Unfortunately when we went, it was quite windy and a lot of seaweed was pulled in (something that we heard was happening all along the coast in Riviera Maya), but that’s okay, the great pools made up for it!
POOLS
There were so many pools, all beautiful and clean. Here’s just a sample!
Swim-out rooms on the ground floor
My kids absolutely loved the splash pads, water slides and pools!
Upper level of the splashpad
The lower level of the water park
One of the pools with a swim-up bar and restaurant
The main pool with stage
Night time entertainment on the main stage
THE KIDS CLUB – the kids had so much fun!
THE LOBBY & VIEW FROM LOBBY
The lobby is big, bright and open, from which you have a spectacular view of the sea and can feel the warm sea breeze. It’s filled with beautiful, comfortable seating.
No wall separates the lobby from the outside view of the pool area and sea, just a glass railing.
